Abstract

Understanding drug trafficking laws in Georgia is crucial when assessing the contribution of theories and best practices in designing effective drug trafficking control mechanisms in Tanzania. Drug trafficking is an illicit business that involves various players, including wealthier and poorer individuals. The reasons for traffickers’ involvement in this business are influenced by diverging interests and motives, making control and intervention measures non-uniform. It is essential for governments to devise and implement drug control mechanisms, considering the nature of drug networks, available theories, and best practices from other countries. This article critically assesses the contribution of theories and best practices in designing effective drug trafficking control mechanisms in Tanzania. It also emphasizes the importance of understanding drug trafficking laws in Georgia. The article is purely descriptive and based on doctrinal sources.
